Hope’s Beacon Counseling was proud to welcome Christian to our team in March 2025. He’s fun, personable, and deeply compassionate. Known for his creative, “outside-the-box” thinking, Christian brings a strong passion for making a positive impact in the world. One of his core values is integrity, which he describes as, “building a strong sense of self and forging a sense of pride, trust, and confidence in yourself that makes it easier to explore new challenges.”
In his downtime, Christian enjoys working out, competitive gaming, and traveling. He also loves exploring the local community and discovering everything it has to offer.
Christian earned his Bachelor of Science in Math and Language Arts from the University of Wyoming, but soon discovered a stronger passion for understanding people, relationships, and the richness of human diversity. He pursued a distributed major in Social Science, studying Psychology, Sociology, Geography, and History. Following that, he completed a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.
Christian views therapy as a space for individuals to laugh, cry, vent, have difficult conversations, learn, and grow. He utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches and has experience working with depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment challenges, and bipolar disorders. Christian especially enjoys working with youth (ages 8+), young adults, and families.
What led you to become a counselor?
Counseling has always been something I found deeply interesting—especially the fact that it can create real, lasting change. Growing up, I faced my own mental health challenges, and counseling became a weekly hour of clarity in what often felt like a storm. That sense of peace meant a great deal to me, and I believe it sparked meaningful, positive changes in my life. Over time, I came to understand just how invaluable the therapeutic relationship can be. It has the power to guide people through their own storms and help them find clarity, too. Realizing that I could be part of that process—helping others and making a meaningful difference—is what inspired my journey into the counseling field.
What is your counseling style, and what will our first session together be like?
My counseling style draws from a variety of evidence-based approaches, each designed to address a wide range of mental health concerns. That said, I approach each session with flexibility, allowing my methods to respond to the unique needs of the individual. Everyone is different—and even the same person can feel differently from one day to the next. My goal is to meet each client exactly where they are and provide support that fits what they need in the moment.
Our first session will be more of an introduction. I understand that reaching out for counseling often takes a great deal of bravery, and that first step can be the hardest. During this initial session, we’ll talk about what brought you in and what you’re hoping to get out of counseling. I’ll ask a few intake questions to get to know you better—they’re brief and intentionally low-key, just a starting point for building understanding and connection.
What can I expect when working with you?
When you work with me, you can expect a genuine, welcoming environment where it’s okay to show up exactly as you are. Our time together is always judgment-free, and your well-being will always be my top priority.
What do you appreciate about Hope’s Beacon’s values and priorities?
I really appreciate that their values and priorities align with my own. Creating a supportive environment and putting the client first are central to the counseling profession—and everyone here truly embodies that. It’s inspiring to feel the genuine care and intention that each person brings to their work, and that energy motivates me every day.
