Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that reaching out for help can feel intimidating, and knowing what to expect along the way can offer some peace of mind. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we hear from new clients.
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session is all about getting to know each other. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and what you’re hoping to work on. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions about how the process works. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable, heard, and supported from the very start.
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
Deciding to seek counseling is a personal decision, and we’re here to support you in that choice. If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or struggling with emotions, relationships, or life changes, therapy can help you gain clarity and move forward. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to reach out for a consultation to explore whether counseling is the right fit for you.
What types of therapy do you offer?
We offer a variety of therapeutic approaches based on your needs. Whether you’re seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, or life transitions, we use evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and mindfulness-based techniques to help you heal and grow.
How long will therapy take?
The length of therapy depends on your individual goals and needs. Some people find they make progress in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term support. We’ll work together to set goals and determine the pace that feels right for you.
Do you accept insurance?
We understand the importance of making therapy accessible. Hope’s Beacon works with a variety of insurance plans. Contact us to find out if your insurance is accepted, or to discuss other payment options if you prefer private pay.
What costs are involved?
At Hope’s Beacon, we believe in being upfront and transparent about our fees, so there are never any surprises. We want you to feel confident and informed every step of the way. Here’s a breakdown of our pricing:
- Intake/Initial Session Fee: $220
- Individual/Family/Couples Session Fee (Insurance): $180
- Individual/Family/Couples Session Fee (Self Pay): $100
These rates are designed to reflect the quality of care and personalized support you’ll receive in each session. We understand that life can be unpredictable, so if you need to cancel or reschedule, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. A late cancellation will incur a $50 fee, and a no-show will incur the normal session fee of $180.
Our goal is to make sure you know exactly what to expect, so you can focus on your healing without any added stress. If you have any questions about pricing or payment options, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to make this process as simple and accessible as possible.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Yes, everything you share in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions as required by law. We take your privacy seriously and will always explain the limits of confidentiality during your first session.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment?
We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. We’ll work with you to find another time that fits your schedule.
Can I bring someone with me to my sessions?
You are always welcome to bring a support person if it makes you feel more comfortable. Some clients prefer to have a partner, family member, or friend with them during the first session, and we’re happy to accommodate that.
