I founded Hope’s Beacon Counseling in November 2017, driven by a deep love for people and a genuine passion for helping others discover their own unique paths to healing, growth, and greater happiness. My childhood was spent on cattle ranches in rural southeast Wyoming, where I learned the importance of caring for all living beings, especially during the toughest times. It’s also where I developed my “make a way, find a way” mindset—finding creative solutions with limited resources to ensure the health and safety of every animal.
My first career in banking also played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today. It taught me invaluable lessons about the power of relationships, the importance of being introspective, and the ability to extract deep insights from every experience. It was during this time that I began to realize my true passion: helping individuals recognize and celebrate the incredible miracle of who they are, regardless of past choices, behaviors, or experiences, particularly those they may regret or feel shame about.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree, both from the University of Wyoming.
In my counseling practice, I take a warm and welcoming approach, always striving to create a “safe space” where clients feel free to express themselves without fear of judgment or shame. I view each person as a unique individual and take a holistic perspective, understanding how all aspects of a person’s life influence them and how past experiences have shaped their current selves. I work with individuals 13 and older—teens, adults, couples, and families—and specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, child abuse and neglect, parent-child dynamics, sexual abuse victimization, domestic violence, women’s issues, and life transitions for individuals, couples, and families.
