In July 2026, we enthusiastically welcomed Fatima to the Hope's Beacon Counseling team. Her incredibly warm and joyful presence, matched with her compassionate nature and desire to support those around her, makes her a perfect fit for our mission. Fatima is bilingual in Spanish and English. She desires to ensure everyone she works with feels heard, believed and accepted.
Fatima earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wyoming and then continued on to earn her Master's in Mental Health Counseling. She spent several years working with clients in crisis, helping them navigate the various systems to meet their needs and reach a safe space.
Fatima is eager to work with clients to help them feel heard and understood, and then support them in empowering themselves to reach their life goals by reminding them of their strengths and abilities.

What led you to become a counselor?
I've always been drawn to helping others. My passion for counseling grew through my work in crisis intervention, supporting individuals who have experienced violence and trauma. During that time, I witnessed how meaningful it can be for someone to simply have a safe space where they feel heard, believed and accepted. Those experiences taught me that healing doesn't happen because someone has all the answers. It begins with feeling seen, supported, and not having to carry life's challenges alone. That realization inspired me to become a counselor. Being invited into someone's life during one of their most vulnerable moments is something I never take for granted. It is a privilege to walk alongside clients as they heal, grow and discover strengths they may not have recognized in themselves.
What is your counseling style, and what will our first session together be like?
My counseling style is warm, collaborative and person-centered. I believe therapy works best when clients feel comfortable being themselves, and I strive to create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and free from judgment. Every person is different, so I tailor therapy to your unique needs, strengths and goals rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care, while always adapting these approaches to what works best for you.
Our first session focuses on getting to know one another. We'll talk about what brought you into counseling, what you hope to gain from therapy, and I will answer any questions you may have. My goal is that you leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and a little more hopeful about the path ahead.
What can I expect when working with you?
When working with me, you can expect a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and accepted. Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after time away, you don't have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We'll start wherever you are.
Together we'll explore the challenges you're facing, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools that support your goals. Some days may involve processing difficult emotions, while other days may involve learning new coping skills or recognizing the progress you've made. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you feel comfortable being yourself, supported through life's challenges, and empowered to move forward with greater confidence and self-understanding.
What is it about Hope's Beacon's values and priorities that you really connect with?
What drew me to Hope's Beacon is its commitment to providing compassionate, client-centered care. From my very first interaction, I felt welcomed by the kindness and warmth of the team, and it quickly became clear that those values are reflected not only in the care they provide but also in how they treat others. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, respected and supported. Knowing that Hope's Beacon shares those values made me excited to join the team and continue supporting individuals and families in our community.
