Every relationship hits rough patches. But when communication breaks down, trust erodes, or you find yourselves having the same argument on repeat, it can feel like you're living with a stranger. Couples counseling at Hope's Beacon in Cheyenne, Wyoming gives you and your partner a structured, supportive space to work through conflict, rebuild connection, and decide together where you want to go.

Our therapists work with couples at every stage — from newlyweds navigating early friction to long-term partners considering whether to stay. We also support couples dealing with infidelity, major life transitions (new baby, illness, job loss, empty nest), sexual intimacy concerns, and the particular strains that come with military life and deployment cycles.

Our Approach

We draw from evidence-based frameworks including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and the Gottman Method — adapted to fit your specific dynamic. Rather than assigning blame, we focus on the cycle: the pattern of pursuit, withdrawal, defensiveness, and hurt that keeps couples stuck. Once you see the cycle clearly, you can start to interrupt it.

LGBTQ+ and Nontraditional Couples

Hope's Beacon is an affirming practice. We welcome same-sex couples, unmarried partners, polyamorous relationships, and couples with significant cultural or religious differences. Every couple deserves a therapist who respects their relationship without judgment.

Telehealth for Wyoming Couples

Distance shouldn't be a barrier to a healthier relationship. We offer secure video sessions to couples anywhere in Wyoming — whether you're both in the same house or one of you is stationed at F.E. Warren or working remotely.

Starting Out

Couples therapy works best when both partners are willing to show up honestly. We'll start with a joint intake session, followed by individual sessions with each partner, before resuming joint work. Most insurance plans cover couples counseling — we accept BCBS, Tricare, Aetna, Cigna, and more.

Our counselors draw on a range of approaches — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), DBT, EMDR, and mindfulness-based techniques — tailored to you, not a template. We bill all major insurance plans including BCBS, Optum (UHC/UMR), Cigna, Aetna, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Victim Services. Self-pay is $100/session, and reduced-rate options are available.
